PRESCRIPTIONS BY MAIL

The other day I called my doctor's office to get a refill on my blood pressure medication.  The nurse asked me a question that I had not been asked before.  It was:  Do you want me to call it in to the pharmacy or do you have your prescriptions delivered in the mail?

I found this curious and asked her about it.  Her reply was that in order for her insurance to cover the prescription, that after the first one, she has to get her refills by mail.  This must be a cost saving measure.

I took Benecar to control my high blood pressure for several months. I do not take it now- I have found that fish oil does the job just as well, along with controlling sodium intake. Prescription drugs are SO expensive. I tried getting the medicine for free through pparx.com, but I didn't qualify. I have no insurance and could not afford over $50 a month for those pills. Now, Avandia is being taken off the market! I read where people said that they knew a few years ago that Avandia was causing or contributing to heart attacks. The FDA is just getting around to protecting the people now.
